AIA - DESIGNING WITH THIN BRICK & THIN BRICK SYSTEMS
Presented by - Samuel Lester, Speedymason National Sales Manager

Thin Brick and Thin Brick Support Systems are becoming increasingly popular throughout the building industry in both commercial and residential construction. This course goes into depth about thin brick, design options and support systems.
Credits - 1LU
LEARNING OBJECTIVE: 1
Types of Thin Brick: This learning objective will go through the different types of thin bricks manufactured worldwide, specifically, centering around ASTM C1088 to explain how thin brick should be specified. The objective will also include the different ways thin bricks are produced and the products used to produce them.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE 2:
Thin Brick Support Systems: This learning objective will explain different options of thin brick support systems. This part of the course will highlight post-applied thin brick applications. This objective will be focused on accepted installation procedures for thin brick units in adhered veneer systems in either residential or commercial construction. Participants will have a general understanding of these specific installation procedures.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE 3:
Embedding Thin Brick into Concrete: This learning objective will be focused on Precast and tilt-up construction where thin brick is embedded into concrete. The participant will receive a general overview on how these systems work and the materials used to build these types of buildings.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE 4:
Designing With Thin Brick: This learning objective will show colors, textures, and sizes of thin brick on the market. The participant will learn about how thin brick can be used in many different design features to include bonding patterns, types of coursing and specific design features thin brick can provide on projects.
